Country facts

There is only one social enterprise training centre from Thailand that is part of the network for the moment, although there is plenty of potential for ASSET-H&C to expand in the country.

In large parts of rural Thailand, particularly amongst ethnic communities, economic marginalisation is present and employment opportunities are not there1. This is particularly extenuated for youth and women, who lack productive and sustainable employment opportunities.

There is the economic potential for tourism to drive inclusive growth benefiting all, but there needs to be the right interventions that ensure all communities are part of Thailand’s economic development.
