ASSET-H&C now counts two members in Myanmar and there is still potential for the network to expand in this rapidly-changing country.

Myanmar is still Southeast Asia’s poorest country though with large swathes of unemployment, poverty and destitution. Over a quarter of the country live below the national poverty line².

Underdeveloped infrastructure, the legacy and presence of conflict, as well as an insufficient education system have left vulnerable communities in Myanmar behind, showing the real need for training and opportunities that match the market demands that are coming from the growing tourism sector.
