As part of the cooperation between Apprentis d’Auteuil and ASSET-H&C, a Social Business study has been conducted by b.Consulting.
By focusing on the definition of a Social Enterprise and showcasing three different member schools from ASSET-H&C in Cambodia, namely Ecole du Bayon, Sala Bai and Pour un Sourire d’Enfant (PSE), the study shows the variety of models existing. This comparative study also includes a guide presenting the best practices and recommendations emerging from the work carried out with these schools in the frame of the study.
Furthermore, general recommendations to enhance the operations of a social business will be helpful for those who are working for or interested in starting one.
Through overview and case studies, the report provides insights on models based on education, dual training systems, and a mix of a business enterprise and NGO, hence presents different scenarios of development.
Furthermore, the report is full of tools and best practices. To name a few:
Among which, Salary Scale for jobs in the hospitality sector in Cambodia is particularly interesting. Gathering over 1500 informants and data collected from hotels, restaurants, and hospitality schools, the Salary Scale proves to be very insightful, even to other countries in Southeast Asia. It is also accompanied by other data and insights, to ensure the numbers can be understood in the right context.
